Q. What are natural products?
A. The simplest answer is that a natural product is a chemical compound or substance produced by living organisms. Being natural doesn’t necessarily mean it’s safe. A lot of natural compounds are toxic to you or your pets. “Natural” does not automatically mean “good” or “safe”. Snake venom, viruses, and radiation are all natural. In fact, some of the most toxic substances are “natural”.
Q. Are your products vegan?
A. We don’t test on animals and we do not use animal derived compounds in any of our products.
Q. Are your products gluten free?
A. None of our products contain wheat or wheat by-products.
Q. What's the expiration date of your products?
A. There is a misconception out there that if you use Natural preservatives your product doesn’t expire. All products are subject to degradation with time. We test the stability of our products up to 18 months and usually set the expiration date of our products to one year after manufacturing.
Q. What is the best way to store the products?
A. Luvums™ Pet Care Products are made with natural ingredients. We recommend that you store in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight and heat.
Q. Do essential oils affect cats differently than dogs?
A. As beneficial as essential oils are for humans, dogs, etc, many essential oils can be toxic to cats. Cats are built differently and need to be treated with a great deal more caution. Cats lack a critical enzyme (glucuronyl tranferase) that would allow them to break down these compounds. As a result it takes much longer for the metabolites to be excreted from the cats body. Q. Is the fragrance natural?
A. Yes, all our products are made with natural fragrances. They will smell stronger in the bottle than they do on your pet.
Q. What charity events will you help with?
A. We will hold charity events such as wash-a-thon’s, pet awareness days, adoption events, and to support the elimination of kill shelters nationwide. Luvums™ will also sponsor events with animal shelters.
